The AFIDS allows for information to be entered by airlines or handling agents, typically in IATA format and in local or UTC time. The information may include the following details:
  • Block On/Off Times
  • Schedule Revisions
  • Passenger and Freight Information
  • Seasonal Schedule Information
  • Carousel Opening and Closing
  • Check-In Desk Opening and Closing
The entered information can be used to generate accurate invoices and to trigger resources, such as check-in desks and gates opening and closing. This subsequently prompts the FIDSnet system to update the relevant displays.
